Bama

2003 - 2021

Bama, you were my friend, my "baby," and my therapist as well as my nighttime cuddle buddy for almost 19 years.

I'll never forget the night I found you abandoned in a parking lot, hungry and afraid and small enough to fit in the palm of my hand. I intended to take you to a shelter the next day so they could find you a great home. That obviously didn't happen, and I know we both were better off for it.

I will always have fond memories of you and your cute and sweet personality. The one memory that will always stick out in my mind was the time we had a tornado warning and took shelter in the hallway, gathering two people, two cats, and two dogs as the tornado approached our area. Thankfully, the tornado stayed aloft and caused no damage. But later that night, upon returning home, I discovered that you had dragged your stuffed animal "babies" one by one into the hall right where we had sheltered several hours before. I can only imagine that you wanted to provide them the same sense of comfort and reassurance you felt amid a potentially dangerous situation.

The truth of the matter is that you provided me more comfort and reassurance over the years than you could ever know. I can't thank you enough for that. I love you and miss you terribly but am thankful you are free of pain and hopefully playing with Allie and Tide once more.
